On the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the People¡¯s Republic of China and the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and the ¡°China-Sri Lanka Friendship Year¡±, I would like to extend to Your Excellency my cordial congratulations and best wishes.
China and Sri Lanka enjoy traditional friendship. In the half century since the establishment of diplomatic relations, our political mutual trust has deepened, exchange and cooperation in various fields expanded and the friendship between our two peoples has flourished. We have enjoyed mutual understanding and support in international affairs.
By participating in celebration activities for the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the ¡°China-Sri Lanka Friendship Year¡±, I am ready to work with Your Excellency to strengthen the all-round cooperative partnership between China and Sri Lanka.
